DISCOVER EUROPE ON BOARD THE PUSH-BARGE COMBINATION THE VISCO

The Visco is an inland waterway vessel  .  A push-barge combination  to be precise.

The Visco is a push-barge combination, which means that it is actually two units: A ship in combination with a self-propelled pusher barge. These two form a unit, which is why this type of ship is called a push-barge combination.

The Visco is a true Rhine vessel that is in continuous use  - 24/7, 365. Because the Visco always has crew on board, we maximise its competitive position when it travels as many kilometres as possible between the loading and unloading points and loses as little time as possible during loading and unloading. And this is best done in the Rhine sailing area.

This philosophy makes works on board the Visco so special. You spend far more time sailing more than still since, after all, you didn't choose a life on the water for nothing. Because you're travelling for a bit longer, you have more room to coordinate work. Sailing on the Rhine is always different, so no two days are the same. Sometimes you have to deal with high water and if you sail later on the same route it can be low tide again, just like that. Working on board the Visco is dynamic, without external pressure. And you can enjoy fun moments, like catching up with our neighbours en route to the same destination! Working in our team is ideal for professionals who are passionate about their craft, for crew members who enjoy being treated to a different view every day and are not afraid to accelerate.

MAKING A CAREER AT THE VISCO

The ship

VISCO; FOR SHIP FREIGHT BROKERS WHO PREFER RELIABLE AND CLEAN TRANSPORTATION

In addition, the Visco, with a loading capacity of 5,500 tons, is a modern and multi-purpose vessel. Thanks to its extremely low crawl line, the ship is ideal on routes with low bridges, but also very suitable for the transport of, for example, 440 containers.

When the owner Leendert Vissers purchased the ship in 2009, he immediately had the foreship adjusted by having the shape changed and a modern wave extender (bulb) was added. This adjustment means that the resistance through the water is significantly reduced, so that less fuel is consumed every trip and the loading capacity is even increased. This has improved the efficiency of the ship no less than twice. Later, the rudder system was also replaced and the four rudders that hang under the stern were also replaced by very slim 'easy flow' rudders. This investment further reduced fuel consumption. With its clean lines and fresh colours, the Visco is a beautiful ship.

Transporting cargo with the Visco therefore suits every ship freight broker who wants to transport her cargo reliably and sustainably to her customers.

CHOOSE CLEAN TRANSPORTATION WITH THE VISCO

THE VISCO; FOR EVERY CUSTOMER, ON ANY ROUTE

The length of the coupling was extended a few years ago from 172 meters to 183 meters. With this size, the Visco can optimally reach customers in Switzerland, and transport a larger batch of cargo than before. In the same period, the Visco also got her hatches. If customers want to transport their cargo dry, they have come to the right place at the Visco. These smart upgrades mean that the Visco sails for very different types of customers. Among others, energy producer EnBW, BAM, Mobicem, Verbrugge and container operators like to transport their cargo via the Visco.
